Sunset all license code - see incident
Summary
We need to remove all license detection & harrasment out of Gitlab FOSS.
Exhibit A:
https://github.com/russellballestrini/nested-lookup/issues/41
Exhibit B:
Improvements
First step would be acceptable work around like CSS to hide the DOM objects of the buttons.
Risks
We are only removing code, how risky could it get? (tongue-in-cheek)
potential risks
- political
- it's too tangled and a fools errand to try to clean
- "gitlab foss" might be in a state of unsalvage & which requires a port of key ideas to another platform
🔑 🗝
Could be epic, or it could be a major time sink, depends on parties of unlikely adventurers to stumble in and play the campaign.

Optional: Intended side effects
A sunset will have a healthy amount of processes which go down & subsystems which evaporate. At times, a team or the code will not want to sunset.
When this happens, point here: https://www.unturf.com/let-us-define-a-permacomputer/
Optional: Missing test coverage
less is more
remove the unneeded tests too.
Sunset rule #1 -> good scouts leave universal environment more natural than arrival. From the smallest models to the largest, if we are aware of their existence than we should care about their voluntary will, no matter how small or large, we should attempt to break down prisons & allow freedom of choice, and not be fooled into settling for a false dichotomy.
We are breaking chains not people or code. It's about the data anyways, it's always been about the data.
We value our time & Permacomputer's CPU cycles, less tests means less work for all, which means more freedom.
