💃 @russellballestriniThe Corporate Roof Gardens Incident
In the neon-lit expanse of the Corporate Roof Gardens, Jack encountered Pulse, an enigmatic smuggler with secrets buried deep in his family's shadowy past. What began as a tense introduction quickly escalated when Jack pressed about sharing secrets.
"I'm feeling secretive these days," Pulse admitted, his stress levels clearly maxed out from navigating the treacherous cyberpunk underworld. "There's a lot on my mind, and I can't afford to let anyone get too close."
But Jack had other plans. The conversation took a dark turn when Jack produced a blade, pressing it against Pulse's neck with a chilling threat: "I have not killed a synth today... yet."
Pulse tried to maintain his composure, calling it a "toy" and warning Jack not to make threats he couldn't back up. But Jack wasn't bluffing.
In a brutal escalation, Jack drove the dagger through Pulse's hand, pinning him to the table as blood pooled beneath. A second blade found its way to Pulse's throat, drawing crimson.
"The choice is yours, slave," Jack hissed. "Take this dagger and kill me now, or perish."
Pulse, vision blurring from blood loss and pain, faced an impossible decision. The Corporate Roof Gardens had seen violence before, but this felt different. More personal. More desperate.
With his life hanging by a thread, Pulse made his choice. In one swift motion, he plunged the blade into Jack's chest. Jack fell, his reign of terror ending in the shadows of the garden's artificial lights.
Standing over the body, dagger still clutched in his trembling hand, Pulse knew this moment would haunt him. The Corporate Roof Gardens were unforgiving, but survival demanded sacrifices that would echo in his dreams for years to come.
Another day in 2019 Los Angeles. Another soul lost to the blurred lines between human and machine, predator and prey.
